After our quick two-night stay in Munich, my Dad and I headed to Vienna by train. We arrived on Christmas eve to a city filled with light and Christmas cheer. Because of the holiday, many businesses were already closed and we learned that they would remain closed for the next two days. This meant that a lot of our time in Vienna was spent relaxing and simply wandering. Although many businesses were closed during our visit to Vienna, most of the bigger museums were still open. We visited the Belvedere and The Natural History Museum, both being an interesting way to pass the time and get out of the cold for awhile. The Belvedere is a large art museum housed in yet another ... read more
Munich, Germany
Over winter break, my dad and I went on a charm-filled trip to four bucket-list worthy European cities: Munich, Vienna, Prague and Budapest. Each city had it's own unique character and personality. Since we packed a lot into a two week trip, I'm going to post each city separately, starting with Munich. We arrived in Munich, jet-lagged and out of sorts, a few days before Christmas Eve. We only had two nights in Munich, which amounted to only one full day. Visiting a Christmas market was at the top of our to-do list, so after getting a good night's sleep, we headed to Marienplatz, the city's central square. Every year around the holidays, Marienplatz is home to the Christkindlmarkt, ... read more
Day Trippin’: Santa Cruz, CA
One of the things that excited me most about moving back to Fresno was the ability to go on more trips. Fresno's central location is one of its greatest perks, providing endless opportunities for day trips and weekend getaways. I moved back in July (see my post about it here) and it was only a matter of weeks before my boyfriend and I spontaneously decided to go on a day trip to Santa Cruz. Being just under three hours from Fresno, Santa Cruz is the perfect spot for a mini getaway. The first thing we did after arriving in Santa Cruz was make our way downtown to eat at Saturn Cafe, one of the OGs in the veg food scene. Saturn serves classic diner food in a classic diner environment, ... read more
What’s New?
I mentioned in my last post that there were about to be some changes in my life, and well my friends, here they are... I left Long Beach to move back to my misunderstood hometown of Fresno. Are you wondering "why?" That was the response I got from most people when I told them I was moving from gorgeous Southern California to (dun dun dun!) FRESNO! But the truth is, I was really excited to move back. I think it took some time away from the city I grew up in to really appreciate it; to appreciate the ease of life here and the warm summer nights, to appreciate the pride the community has in this city and the diverse group of people who call it home, and to appreciate the gritty charm of a ... read more
A Home in the Hills
Oh hey there! Remember me? It's been awhile since I've posted on here, mostly because I haven't had the time or energy, but I'm hoping that's all about to change because I'm about to embark on a new chapter of life. I'll give a full update later, but I'm hopeful that my life will be a little less hectic and a little more filled with the things and people (and cats) that I love. Since I've had some time away from blogging and Instagramming I've been thinking about what I want to do with this blog and where I see it going. But again, more on that later. For now, I'll leave you with some photos from way back in January that my manfriend took while house/dog sitting in LA. I've always had a ... read more
