Oh, hi there! I’m Chelsea and I’m a Californiaholic. No really, I couldn’t quit California if I tried. I wasn’t actually born in California. I was born in a small college town in Pennsylvania, but only lived there until I was about three years old so I don’t have much memory of it. After leaving Pennsylvania, my family moved to Fresno, CA where I grew up. It’s not the most glamorous part of California, that’s for sure. But it was a great place to grow up and it made me who I am today, so it will always hold a special place in my heart.
I moved to Southern California after high school and got my degree in Fashion Merchandising from Cal Poly Pomona. After finishing school there I moved to my current city of Long Beach, CA (AKA the greatest city in the world and home town of Snoop Dogg). It’s got that classic, laid-back California attitude that I love and it offers so many neighborhoods to explore, each with its own character. Not to mention, Los Angeles and Orange County are just a stone’s throw away providing even more opportunities to explore!
As you can probably tell, there’s really no place I’d rather be than right here in the golden state. I decided to start this blog so I could share my love for California with the world. So join me as I discuss style, food, travel, and life in general in sunny California.
Fun facts about me:
- I live in an adorable studio apartment with my three cats: Jim, Honey, and Penelope. They’re all up to no good in their own way.
- I have a major sweet tooth that I get from my 92 year old grandpa. That man doesn’t mess around when it comes to dessert.
- I’m a HUGE animal lover, which is what pushed me to go vegetarian at age 15 and eventually vegan about 10 years later. However, this is not a vegan blog; everyone is welcome here!
- I love to travel. I pretty much spend any extra money I have on traveling, whether its just a weekend getaway or a trip across the globe. I’ll be sure to share all my travels with you on Chelsea California.
- My best friends in life are my brother and sister. We go on a siblings trip together every year, so stay tuned to find out where we go in 2017!
