Hello! It’s been awhile since I’ve done a beauty post, so I thought I would do a review of my last Petit Vour box. Petit Vour is a monthly subscription box containing totally natural, vegan, and cruelty-free beauty and skincare products. It’s such a fun surprise to open up the box each month and see what products I get to try. Each box comes with 4 items, usually at least one of them being a full size product, so at $15 it’s a great value! Read my April review here if you’re interested. Now let’s get to the products I received in June!
Modern Minerals Lip Creme Tint
I received this lip tint in “playful” which is a fuchsia color. When I first took it out of the box I was a little disappointed because the color isn’t one I would normally wear. I tend to stick with very natural colors because I like the no-makeup makeup look, and I have big lips so I feel like I look a little crazy if I wear really bold colors. However, once I put it on I realized that it truly is just a “tint” and the color is very subtle. I’ve actually been using it a lot on the days when I’m hardly wearing any makeup and just want a little pop of color on my lips. It really wakes my entire face up! This lip tint is made with Lotus Wei’s flower essence and gemstone energy that’s supposed to promote all kinds of positivity in your life. I don’t know about all that, but it does have a nice floral scent! My only complaint is that it’s a little drying on my lips so I have to wear it over chapstick, but other than that I’d say this one’s a winner! Get it here.
Mai Couture Skincare Blotting Paper
My skin is more on the dry side than the oily side, so blotting papers have never been something I’ve used. However, I do sometimes get a little more oily in the summer when it’s hot so I decided to give these a try and actually found that when using them more oil comes off my face than I thought I had! It’s a super quick and easy way to give your face a fresh, clean look midday. I received the one containing rosehip oil, which works to fight signs of aging, but there are other options for different concerns. Get it here.
My Daughter Fragrances Bloom 23 Perfume
I love this perfume! I don’t wear fragrances much anymore because they’ve started giving me major headaches as I’ve gotten older. Plus most perfumes are full of chemicals that I don’t want on my skin. So I was pretty excited to receive a perfume that’s free of harmful chemicals like pthalates and parabens. The only question was whether or not I would get a headache from this particular scent and the outcome was…no headache for me! It’s a very light floral scent with hints of gardenia, jasmine, rose, vanilla, and sandalwood. It’s pretty and feminine but not overwhelming so I can wear it daily. Get it here.
NIU Body Coconut Oil Makeup Remover
This was the only thing in my box that I really wasn’t a fan of. They’re little cotton pads infused with coconut, lavender, and geranium oils that you rub across your face to remove dirt, oil, and makeup. I’m a huge fan of oil cleansing but these were just too oily for me and the oil was really hard to rinse off of my face when I was done. It felt like it was just sticking there. I will say that when I got them, the little bag the samples came in was slightly open so the cotton pads had dried out. When trying it for the first time, I put a little bit of water on the cotton to moisten it, so maybe mixing the oil with water at the beginning made them extra oily and extra hard to rinse off? I’m not sure, but this is definitely a product I won’t be buying the full size of. They’re available here if you’d like to try for yourself. Maybe you’ll have more luck than I did!
