I recently got the chance to take a trip back to the little town I spent the first three years of my life in, State College, PA. I didn't remember very much about State College from the time I lived there (I was just a baby after all) or from the two times my family went back to visit when I was kid. So it was really fun to take it all in as an adult. My main impression of this little college town is how darn cute it is! Everywhere you look there are charming old houses made even more charming with glimmering, white snow and festive Christmas decorations. I spent a lot of time on this trip relaxing with family, but we also got to get out and explore a little bit. We spent some time ... read more
Winter Florals
Happy NYE! I can't believe 2017 has come and gone so quickly. There were some ups and downs but all in all it was a pretty good year filled with some great adventures: a trip to Vancouver, a wonderful day trip to Ojai, a road trip to Arizona, my first solo trip to Quebec City, and a visit back to my very first hometown (more on that soon) just to name a few. I'm hoping for many more adventures in 2018 and am excited for the changes that this year will bring. Once the holidays are over and January rolls around I'm pretty much ready for winter to be over (even though winter in SoCal sometimes doesn't even begin until January, if at all). We had some pretty chilly weeks in December but ... read more
Solo Trip to Quebec City
I recently took my very first solo trip, something that seemed a little scary but ended up being just wonderful. The destination: Quebec City. I had been wanting to go to Quebec City ever since randomly stumbling upon Pinterest pictures of what looked like a truly magical city. One day, while playing around on one of my favorite travel sites, Fareness, I found a super cheap flight to QC. I had kind of been wanting to take a solo trip and thought it might be the perfect time to bite the bullet and just book the trip, so that's exactly what I did. As the trip got closer, I started to get a little nervous and even felt a little bit of dread. Would I be bored or lonely in a new city by myself? ... read more
Life Lately
Hello, hello! I feel like I'm back from the dead, at least for now. I don't know if anyone actually cares, but I just thought I'd share a little about what I've been up to for the past few months. I've mostly been incredibly busy with my real job and have been too exhausted to do anything blog related, which I decided is OK because I started this blog as a fun side project and there's no reason to make it a stressful thing. I also contemplated moving back to Fresno for a hot second. I adore Long Beach and everything it has to offer, but the truth is, it's expensive. Way expensive. I had been thinking about Fresno as an option for awhile because it's really not a bad place to live; it's ... read more
Weekend in Monterey
Hi friends! I'm sitting in a super cute coffee shop drinking a chai latte (my favorite) and snacking on a muffin and am happy to finally have some time to recap my recent siblings weekend in Monterey. I drove up to Monterey on a Friday morning (it's about a 6 hour drive from Long Beach) and arrived just in time and hungry enough to grab some Ike's Sandwiches. Ike's is my favorite sandwich shop ever because they have a plethora of vegan options and they're all super tasty! After filling up on carbs, we stopped by my brothers house to drop off our stuff and say hi to my puppy nephews (you all know I'm a ride or die cat lady but if I ever have a dog I want one just like Boriska). It ... read more
